Fund Raising 2007
Hi guys, what's planned for fund raising in 2007? With the Cricket World Cup coming in 6 weeks...maybe a pool! I also have some stuff for a garage sale, and am definitely in to a playoff hockey pool. bob jr.

I think a cricket world cup pool is a good idea.

I think that's a good idea too!! Just wondering, have we done anything like that at NSCC before? Let's see what people say here... and I should be able to get something going.

World Cup Pool
I think Sonny Sandhu did one 4 years ago... there are several ways. I bet we can find some examples online. Perhaps the easiest is a box pool... for eg. List 8 batsmen - pick the top run getter, List 8 bowlers, pick the top wicket taker, etc. Most catches, Most team wins, World Cup winner etc. Half the winnings go to the club and half to the pool winners. ... I'm picking Sandher for most wickets

I have a garage full of cricket equipment which I want to clear. I've offered NSCC 50% the proceeds if our club members help to sell it, & possibly tell other clubs to come and take a look? We could have sale at our club house or has anyone any other sugestions?? Shaun

Back to the World Cup of Cricket pool. M'lomas are doing one. I sent it to Bill & the club email. Easy & fun fundraiser - but only good if we get lots of guys on board to play (not just NSCC... take it to work and get your friends to play). This will look better on MS Word, but here are the details: NSCC CRICKET 2007 WORLD CUP POOL The entry fee is $20 (please make cheques payable to NSCC Cricket Club). Pick, against the spread, who you think is going to win each match. • For the first round, a correct guess is worth 2 points; • For the second round (super eights), a correct guess is worth 4 points; • For the semi-final, a correct guess is worth 8 points; • For the final, a correct guess is worth 16 points; • In all rounds, a 1 point bonus is received for correctly picking an underdog; • An extra 15 bonus points are received for picking, on the initial entry sheet, the final four teams (semi-finalist); and • Finally, 25 Bonus points are received for picking, on the initial entry sheet, the final two teams. Entries for the round-robin stage, along with the entry fee, must be sent to NSCC prior to March 11th (the day of the World Cup opening ceremonies). The super eights, semi-finals and finals entry sheets will be emailed to all participants once the preliminary round is over and the draw is set. Note: The half point spreads are used to avoid ties (e.g. a 7.5 wicket margin means the favorite has to win by at least 8 wickets, and a 30.5 run margin means the favorite has to win by 31 runs or more). NAME OF PARTICIPANT: _________________________________ EMAIL ADDRESS: ________________________________________ YOUR PICKS FAVORITE SPREAD UNDERDOG West Indies 2.5 wickets/25.5 runs Pakistan Australia 8.5 wickets/175.5 runs Scotland Kenya 3.5 wickets/40.5 runs Canada Sri Lanka 8.5 wickets/200.5 runs Bermuda Zimbabwe 5.5 wickets/50.5 runs Ireland South Africa 8.5 wickets/160.5 runs Holland England 1.5 wickets/15.5 runs NZ India 3.5 wickets/35.5 runs Bang.
